Medicare Rx Coverage
What is the Lifetime Penalty?
Medicare Rx Drug Coverage Timetable
Medicare Home
If you're eligible for Medicare and have no coverage for prescription drugs that is the same or better than Medicare’s, choose a Medicare plan! If you don’t enroll, and need Medicare drug coverage later, you will pay an added 1% of the premium for each month starting with June 2006 until the month you do enroll. This higher premium for drug coverage will stick with you for the rest of your life.
People with MS are likely to have prescription drug costs of $10,000 a year or more for medications mostly related to MS. It makes sense to enroll in a Medicare plan to avoid a lifetime premium penalty. |
