The allergens that come from cockroaches and other small pests can cause lots of sneezing and sniffling, but you can take measures to get rid of them. Consider using poison baits, boric acid (for cockroaches), or traps. If you decide to use a pesticide spray, remember it may contain chemicals that irritate allergy and asthma symptoms. Take these precautions.

Do not spray in food preparation or storage areas.
Do not spray in areas where children play or sleep.
Limit spraying to the infested area.
Follow instructions on the label carefully.
Make sure there is plenty of fresh air when you spray.
